NamibiAlive

We know music is an effective vehicle for spreading HIV/AIDS awareness messages because this approach has been tested in Namibia. 

On December 1, 2006, we launched NamibiAlive, a compilation CD featuring HIV/AIDS awareness messages by popular Namibian artists.  5,000 NamibiAlive CDs were distributed free to taxi and bus drivers throughout Namibia. 

This population was particularly at high-risk of contracting HIV/AIDS due to their mobility and expendable income.  By taking our message on the road and putting it on the airwaves, we were able to reach the population who needed to hear our messages most.
